The entertainment crown jewel of Nashville Yards is officially open.

The Pinnacle, Nashville’s newest music venue, was revealed to the public for the first time Thursday at a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by developer Southwest Value Partners, Pinnacle Financial Partners and AEG Presents.

“It’s hard to imagine that this vision has been a ten-year journey,” Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell said during the ribbon cutting. “I have been involved in this project for a while now, first as a council member and now as mayor, and it’s amazing to see a venue of this quality in Nashville.”

Dozens of concerts and events are already scheduled for the brand new music venue, beginning with Kacey Musgraves’ show on Thursday, Feb. 27. Turnpike Troubadours, Journey, T-Pain, Denzel Curry, Russell Dickerson, Megan Moroney, Zac Brown Band, Jack White and Jason Isbell are booked in the coming months, representing a lineup of acts defying country music’s dominance in Nashville.

EDM artists Illenium, Deadmau5 and Zeds Dead have also been announced at the venue, satiating a growing appetite for electronic music in Nashville.

Nashville Yards buildings surrounding the music venue are also on the cusp of welcoming their first visitors. Leasing and condo sales have begun on the neighborhood’s residential towers, while the Pinnacle Financial Partners office tower is expecting its first workers in the coming weeks. Just next door to The Pinnacle is the creative office building soon to be occupied by AEG Presents and Creative Arts Agency.

Here’s everything you need to know about The Pinnacle as it opens to the public.

The Pinnacle’s capacity is for a maximum of 4,500 people. This size and venue type is not currently represented in Nashville’s lineup of concert halls.

The Ryman Auditorium, known in part for its historic church pew seating, holds about 2,300 people. Ascend Amphitheater, which is outdoors, can accommodate 6,800 attendees. Meanwhile, Bridgestone Arena is much larger and can host up to 20,000 people for concerts. Cannery Hall’s main stage allows up to 1,300 people.

Developers have touted the accessibility of Nashville Yards compared to other areas of the city due, in part, to the below-grade parking and loading docks built into the site. Touring artists and their crews can load equipment through the underground docks and send it right upstairs to the venue through freight-sized elevators.

The Nashville Yards development, which includes The Pinnacle, boasts over 7,000 paid parking spaces both below and above ground.

Multiple bars and restaurants are also on the way to Nashville Yards, which developers hope will become a lively business and entertainment district. Those include Ocean Prime, Fogo De Chão, Culaccino and more.
