Shipley Do-Nuts and Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café locations are planned for a 2025 opening in downtown’s Nashville Yards.
According to a release, franchisee Virentes Hospitality will own and operate the businesses. Shipley will open in May in Nashville Yards’ office building to be anchored by Creative Artists Agency and that is geared toward entertainment industry tenants including AEG Presents, a cineplex and L-Acoustics (read here). Sweet Paris will take space in The Pinnacle, the development’s live music and entertainment building, and open in June.
Founded in 1936 and with its parent company based in Houston, Shipley is a doughnut and coffeehouse chain with a presence in nine states (primarily located in the South). In the Nashville area, Shipley operates locations in Donelson and in Hendersonville.
With more than 360 company-owned and franchised restaurants located in 12 states, Shipley serves doughnuts, coffee and kolaches. The company was ranked No. 110 on Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 2024 list and No. 1 in its category and is No. 147 on the Technomic 2024 Top 500.
The Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café website notes 22 locations, with a presence in Texas, Florida, Minnesota, Arizona and Mexico. The company was founded in 2012.
Lease terms with Nashville Yards master developer Southwest Value Partners (SWVP) and the cost to get operational are not being disclosed.
“Shipley and Sweet Paris are both delightfully tasty, and have something delicious to offer everyone in a really fun environment,” Cary Mack, Southwest Value Partners managing partner, said in the release. “We are very glad to have both brands come to Nashville Yards.”
SWVP recently announced the residential units in The Emory are being offered as for-purchase condominiums (read here). SWVP is undertaking development of the site with The Emory and The Everett (the latter an accompanying apartment tower) with Dallas-based Streetlights Residential. The Everett is located at 960 Commerce St.
